Shalini Arora

Shalini Arora (9 November 1971) is an Indian Television actress, popularly known as Bhavna for her role in Balaji’s top reigning show Pavitra Rishta on Zee TV.

Her character Bhavna is that of Satish’s mother in the show. Simplistic and down to earth in real life, Shalini portrays a very straight forward and outspoken character on small screen. Hailing the conservative traditional values of a typical Marathi mother in law in the show, Shalini is popular for her loggerheads with her daughter in law.

Early Life and Education: Shalini a graduate in English Literature and Geography was born and brought up in a Hindu Brahmin family of Lucknow. She had great interest in debates, elocution and singing and would perform on stage with great passion during her school and college days. With civil service as a career option Shalini was unaware that her passion would one day become her identity and that she would be recognized as an actress and become a household name.

Career

It was in the year 2001 when she first got selected through an audition for ETV’s Asha ki Kiran where she played a negative role of badi bhabhi. After that there has been no looking back. With the help of her husband, she managed her household chores and also set a career for herself in an alien field. With famous serials like Kareena-Kareena, Kasturi, Karam Apna Apna, Kayamat, Jahan Pe Basera Ho and Laadli Bebo, Shalini managed to make a name in every house and also in the most desirable production house Balaji. In fact she has also tasted success on silver screen with Zameen and Muskaan. But the icing of the cake was with Ekta Kapoor’s top rated show Pavitra Rishta which gained so much of publicity and liking from the audience that Shalini managed another feather in her cap with Balaji’s another reigning show TereLiye on Star Plus. Apno Ke Liye Geeta Ki Dharmayudh, on Zee Tv is a new addition to her shows where she is playing Geeta's mother. Manorama, again a very positive character but of bihari background. Currently she has added a new show to her kitty and can be seen in Phulwa on Colors channel where she playing the character of Thakurain, wife of Thakur Daroga Singh.
